OVERVIEW

The course that allows you to familiarize yourself with the main themes of data management, showing why they are fundamental today for organizations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The aim of the course is to allow participants to have an introductory vision on the different disciplines that make up the Data Management world according to DAMA DMBOK2 framework.

Contents include:

  • Introduction to DAMA framework (DMBoK): What is DMBoK, what are its key tools
  • Data Governance: what is Data Governance and why it is a critical success factor for Data Management.
  • Data Quality Management: Data quality dimensions, metrics, technological evaluations, tools and techniques to support Data Quality Management
  • Reference Data and Master Data Management: what is Master Data, differences between Reference Data and Master Data
  • Data Warehousing and BI: goals and principles for Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence. Types of DW, BI and Analytics.
  • Data Modeling: developlment, use and value of developing Data Models. Differences between Enterprise, Conceptual, Logical and Physical Model. Relational and Dimensional Schemes and their role depending on business goals.
  • Data Security: difference between safety and security e and their convergence in the digital environment
  • Data Handling Ethics: awareness of implications and impactsof not ethics data handling on reputatoin and business costs.
  • Metadata Management: What is Metadata, awareness of its objectives and use for more value and understanding of business data assets
  • Document Management and Big Data: practices and challenges on managing unstructured data.
  • Data Management Tools: tool kits to support Data Management activities.
